Youngish Quilter 2020 Sew-Along: How is it going?- Part 3

Hello there! It’s Rachel here. I can’t believe we are approaching autumn and the nights are starting to draw in. I’m missing summer already, but autumn and winter have to be the best months for quilting. In my opinion, there’s nothing more cosy than binding a quilt in front of the TV with a hot drink when it’s raining outside. With that in mind, how are you all doing with the block of the week project? Are you at the binding stage yet or are your blocks yet to be assembled? Whatever stage you’re at, I hope you really enjoyed the project and are pleased with the blocks you have made.

This is the second sampler I have made so I was familiar with quite a few of the blocks, but it was still good to revisit those skills needed to make them. I loved the star blocks and would like to make a whole quilt just using the Ohio Star block! I did find the curved block a bit tricky, but it was fine once I quilted it.

I finished my quilt a couple of weeks ago and it has been gifted to my grandma for her birthday (I actually forgot to take some good pictures of it before I wrapped it!) She absolutely loved it and I am pleased that it has a good home.

I can’t wait to see pictures of your finished quilts. Remember to tag us on Instagram.
